My skin transformed once I incorporated glycolic acid into my skincare routine many years ago.
Before I did, my skin was incredibly dry, the texture was uneven and this contributed to make-up appearing cakey and heavy.
I was picking some bits and bobs up on Look Fantastic and for £6.75 I decided to give The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution a try.

Described as a toning solution that offers a mild exfoliation to help boost skins radiance and restore clarity. The solution is enriched with Tasmanian pepperberry derivative to help reduce the irritation associated with acid use and ginseng and aloe vera to soothe.
My favourite glycolic tonics Pixi Glow Tonic & Alpha H both have a glycolic content of 5% so I was expecting great things from this as this is 7%.
The packaging is really minimal like all The Ordinary range, and you pour the solution out by unscrewing the small cap and dousing a cotton pad.
The scent is barely detectable and it feels soothing, fresh and hydrating on application.
Initially I did feel it lacked a little oomph, I didn’t feel any sensation at all. I was expecting quite a tingle to the skin, given the percentage of glycolic acid.

After day 5 of using it, my skin felt really sensitive and a little red on the cheeks. With this in mind I would recommend using it maybe 2-3 times a week, and not every day like I did.
On the whole my skin appears the same. It does a good job. Skin feels exfoliated, smooth and soft.
I feel it doesn’t leave my skin as revitalised as the other glycolic toners, especially Pixi Glow Tonic. But all in all for the price I have zero complaints, it has fitted into my skincare routine with ease.

It is a little more harsher on the skin that any other glycolic products I have tried. But this was a given I suppose seems the glycolic content is higher than what I am used to.
So with this in mind I would recommend starting at a lower percentage, if you have never tried glycolic acid based products before.
If you have, I would recommend using it sparingly as I went a bit over the top, underestimating its potency.
All in all I would repurchase, it is really affordable and the bottle has a generous 240ml of solution so it will last me a very long time.
