*BaliBody is a skincare, sun-care and self tan brand founded in Australia – Melbourne.
They deliver fast and free shipping to the UK, and the brand are vegan friendly.
I was kindly sent two of their tanning products to review.
I really like the packaging of the BaliBody products. They are sleek, classy yet bold and eye-catching.
With Summer on the horizon I always like to tan each week.
I would love to be a person who wasn’t to bothered about fake tan, but for me personally it makes a huge difference and I feel more comfortable and confident wearing it.
*BaliBody Self Tan Water:
The BaliBody Self Tan Water claims to take the fear out of tanning the face.
A fear felt by all fellow fake tanners!
It is a hybrid product that it is enriched with skincare properties, but also provides a gradual tan.
I am a huge lover of 2-in-1 products as I am a lazy human, and the less faff the better in my opinion.
The water is enriched with Sodium Hyaluronate that helps to keep the skin plump, hydrated and smooth. It also contains Rose Water that helps tighten pores and Jojoba Oil, that helps to fight fine lines and is beneficial for acne prone skin.
It has a percentage of alcohol in, but after 4 uses I haven’t found it to dry my skin, so the amount must be minimal.
It is a clear water fluid, very much like a toner and you are advised to wipe over your face with a cotton pad.
It is dispensed via a pump, and I pump around 3 pumps onto a large oval cotton pad.
After I have wiped over my face with a pad the formula dries quickly, and leaves the skin feeling taught and smooth.
There is a slight tanning scent, but that quickly disappears after a couple of minutes.
The next morning I wake up with a natural glowing tan. Around one or two shades darker than my natural skin tone.
It doesn’t appear heavy on the skin. Freckles and blemishes are still visible, but I really like this element as it isn’t covering the skin it just creates a glowing golden tint.
My skin hasn’t had any sort of reaction, it isn’t any drier than usual and it does not clog my pores around my chin area – like some self tans do.
It has slipped into my skincare routine with ease. I will apply once or twice a week, or every other day if I have a special occasion coming up.
It is one of the easiest face self tanners that I have tried.
I have zero complaints.
It is incredibly faff free.
*BaliBody Self Tan Mousse:
The Bali Body Self Tan Mousse is free from parabens and it contains 100% natural DHA which basically means the tan won’t dry your skin, and it does not. It does quite the opposite.
The mousse is packed with natural nourishing oils that hydrate the skin, leaving it smooth and nourished.
The mousse is a dark brown firm mousse texture, with a green undertone. I prefer a tan with a green undertone as it appears more golden and natural.
I apply with the BaliBody Mitt and I think this mitt is the best I have tried. There is a section where you can put your thumb. Helping the mitt to stay on the hand securely, this element and the mousse being a brown shade helps to apply a streak-free tan, quickly and precisely.
The tan has a light fruity scent and I am happy to report there is no dreaded biscuit scent.
I found the tan can feel slightly sticky on the skin for five-to-ten minutes, but this then subsides.
I usually always choose the shade medium/dark when it comes to self tan, as I like to have an instant visible tan. I find two applications of this tan and I am good to go.
- Exfoliate the skin. This is a must. Especially the knees and elbows. The end result always looks considerably more natural. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and create a smooth surface that the tan can adhere to, evenly.
- If I shave my legs or pluck my eyebrows. I will wait a good couple of hours before I apply fake tan. If I don’t, I find the tan can sink into the pores and little small dark spots appear all over the skin.
- I always apply fake tan at night time and then shower or bathe the next morning. I find washing the first layer of is key. It reveals a more natural streak free glowing tan.
A golden, natural, flawless, medium tan.
I am so impressed with BaliBody Fake Tan Mousse and Tanning Water.
It leaves a natural tan on the skin, and fades more evenly than most. The tan doesn’t transfer to my bed sheets, nor to my clothes.
It dries quickly, has a nice scent and is easy to apply.
If you have never tried Balibody I can wholeheartedly recommend if you use tanning products you will not be disappointed.
