The treatment oil from MoroccanOil is one I have used on and off for many years now.
I first stumbled across the brand in a monthly subscription beauty box a couple of years back.
My hair is long, thick, dry, frizzy and in a nut-shell a real blooming pain to manage and style.
I had never tried any other products from MoroccanOil, so I was excited to try their *Destination Repair Travel Set.
The set includes:
Moisture Repair Shampoo (70ml):
Moroccanoil® Moisture Repair Shampoo gently and effectively cleanses and revives hair to leave it nourished, manageable and strong. Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil, reconstructive keratin and fatty acids, this moisturizing shampoo mends broken strands and dead ends to restore elasticity, moisture and shine. colour-safe. A particle matrix of high-performance resins and zeolite form a bond between hairs for a texturized hold with a dry, gritty finish.
The 4 products are lined up inside the turquoise travel bag, and the bag is sturdy and high quality.
I have actually been using it as my make-up bag, as it’s robust and very roomy.
I love travel sets. They are such a great way to try an array of products – at a purse friendly price.
Each product in the set is a generous size, and the packaging is the same as their full sized products.
So grab a cuppa because I am going to paint you a picture, my hair, oh damn my hair.
It was in a dark place to say the least.
I use a curling wand once or twice a week.
Even though I do use a heat protectant, unfortunately my hair was dry, damaged and I looked like Worsel Gummidge.
This set landed on my desk just in the nick of time.
I had around three inches of my hair cut off, and then started using the products religiously.
Argan oil is very high in Vitamin C and easily absorbed. So this makes it the perfect conditioning treatment as it hydrates the hair, taming split ends, which then helps the hair to appear sleek and smooth.
I have been using the shampoo and conditioner twice a week, and then towel dry my hair and use the treatment oil.
The treatment oil is simple to use.
I pour around a 10p blob of the oil into the palms of my hands, rub together, and then run my hands through my hair.
I then use any excess oil that is left on my hands, and dab around the crown of my head.
(To try and tame them pesky fly aways).
The dry texture spray is the only product in the set that I don’t feel is suited to my hair type.
Adding volume to my mane isn’t something I actively seek out, but I do feel this spray would work really well for people with fine hair to add an extra oomph of body and texture.
The winning combination for me has been the shampoo, conditioner and treatment oil.
I am so happy to report my hair is in a much better place, it is more manageable and appears healthy, shiny and feels stronger, smoother and softer. And split ends and the dry fly aways around my crown have reduced drastically.
As I said earlier, I know the treatment oil works as I have used it for many years. But the combination of using the three products together, (and a good hair cut of course) has improved the condition and appearance of my hair ten fold.
Argan oil and dry, frizzy thick hair, well it’s a match made in heaven ladies and gents.
This set costs £26, which I feel is reasonable, as it works out around £6.50 per product.
If your budget is tight, and I could only recommend one of these products from Moroccanoil, then it would have to be their Treatment Oil.
First up it smells incredible, a relaxing and sumptuous scent.
It nourishes and hydrates the hair all without making it appear greasy or flat.
It doesn’t weigh the hair down, it gives the hair an added oomp and leaves the hair feeling super smooth soft, and appearing healthy, hydrated and shiny.
So yes, in my humble opinion it’s a total game changer.
