As I said on my last beauty post, when the lovely Gemma from Gemma etc. tells me I need to try a beauty product, then the majority of the time I run right out and pick it up.
Me and Gemma have similar skin type and tastes. I always trust Gemma’s recommendations, she is so knowledgable when it comes to beauty products, and writes such detailed and honest reviews.
(She is also such a little sweetheart too!)
The Barry M All Night Long Wear Full Coverage Concealer is a pretty new launch to the line.
There are 5 shades in the range, and it costs £4.49.
The shade featured in this post is called Oatmeal. The second lightest shade in the range.
My thoughts…
The packaging isn’t anything special, but given the price point I am totally okay with this.
It is a slimline tube that you unscrew and attached to the lid part is a wand, with a small thin doe-foot applicator.
I know the majority of people like large doe-foot applicators, like the Tarte Shape Tape or Revolution Conceal & Define, but I prefer this applicator in all honesty.
I like how I can be precise and add a small amount of product to a specific area, and then build it up if needs be.
Saying that, this formula is incredibly pigmented, so I never really feel the urge to build it up.
None the less I really like the small thin applicator, as I never go overboard, or pile to much of the formula on.
The formula is light, but as you can see below it’s incredibly pigmented.
I simply swipe a little in each corner of my eye, and dab under and outwards with a damp beauty blender.
I then set with a little loose translucent powder.
I must say I *really* like it, and more so than the much loved and hyped Tarte and Revolutions concealers.
(SHOCK HORROR)
The lightweight formula feels so comfortable and light under the eye area.
It illuminates the area, and the finish is semi-matte. So it doesn’t appear to glowy or appear to flat.
It doesn’t separate, crease, wear off or budge as the day progresses.
It doesn’t feel drying around the eye area, or appear cakey.
It actually appears incredibly natural, all whilst covering any darkness I have around the inner corners of my tear troughs.
Oatmeal is the perfect shade for me, but with only 5 shades in the range, a lot of skin tones are unfortunately not catered for.
It’s now 2018 and beauty lovers across the globe are screaming out for wider shade ranges when it comes to make-up base products.
So more shades pronto please, Barry M.
Base make-up has always been my love, and I have always opted for high-end as I could never find any budget concealers or foundations that were on par.
But from this Barry M Concealer to theRevolution Pro Foundation Drops that I reviewed last week, well this combo looks so good on my face.
Prior to using these two budget products I was using Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation and Estee Lauder Doublewear concealer.
Both these products cost £68, and I do really adore them, but.
Yes there is a BUT.
This budget version I have switched to, well I like just as much.
Plus the price difference is unbelievable.
A saving of £57.50!!
It is safe to say my bank balance is very happy at the mo!
Have you tried this concealer?
What concealer are you loving at the mo?
