When Gemma from Gemma etc. told me i “needed” to try the new Revolution Pro Foundation Drops I didn’t hesitate to run out and pick them up.
Described as a silky breathable base, the foundation is a water based formula and there are 18 shades in the range.
The shade featured today is F4 – For light skin tones with neutral undertone.
The foundation costs a bargain £7.
Lets get the negatives out the way!
Yes it looks pretty snazzy. But I actually really dislike the packaging, trying to dispense the product is such a hassle and things can get a little messy.
A good old pump on this beauty, and then it would be near on perfect.
The formula is water based and is a light-weight sheer fluid.
It does takes a little bit of an effort to blend into the skin, as it’s a runny formula.
Even though these style of water fluid base products are not my favourite type to apply, I really like how they appear on my skin.
(I like to use a large buffing brush to apply the formula, and then blend away the brush strokes with a beauty blender).
The Revolution Pro Foundation Drops offer a medium coverage, and the formula is buildable.
I have dry/normal skin, with some redness and scars on my cheek and some fine lines across my forehead.
At the moment shade F4 is a really good match for me.
I only have to apply a small amount, and I find this covers any redness and blemishes with ease. It also doesn’t settle or highlight any fine lines, and it doesn’t look cakey or appear flat on my skin.
It appears semi-matte, and my skin appears healthy, smooth and luminous.
It feels very lightweight and comfortable on the skin.
This factor has been much welcomed, given the warm and clammy weather.
The problem I have with water based foundations is I usually need to add a good amount of setting powder, for them to last the day.
This is not the case with the Revolution Pro Foundation Drops.
A light dusting of setting powder is more than enough.
I can apply it at 7.30am and still be pretty happy with how it appears by 5pm.
The Revolution Pro Foundation Drops formula is really incredible, and such good value.
I am so impressed with every aspect, (apart from the packaging).
It’s the best budget foundation I have tried in a long while, and priced at a purse friendly £7, I highly recommend you pick it up.
