*The Skinny Bakery Review

I had seen *The Skinny Bakery popping up on my social media feeds and i was dying to try their baked goods, as they sounded and looked so tasty.

*The Skinny Bakery was founded in 2013 by Mariella Forte, and the brand and its products are inspired by “Skinny Lattes”.

*The Skinny Bakery Review

Mariella experimented endlessly to discover delicious baked recipes, that contain a fraction of the calories.

The healthy handmade baked goodies use alternative ingredients from sweet potato, beetroot, to tofu and quark. Each piece typically contains 30-40 calories and has less fat and sugar compared to other typical baked goods, due to the vegetable, tofu, and quark substitutes.

The grab-and-go packs make for the perfect snacks.

*The Skinny Bakery offer next day UK delivery and their baked goods can be frozen for up to 5 months.

Some of *The Skinny Bakery clients include: Little Mix, Louboutin and Vita Don Tee.

There are a range of goodies on offer, which include gluten free and dairy free options.

I had the pleasure of sampling the following:

Carrot Pearls:

Carrot cake sponges piped with a quark based low fat cream cheese frosting.

Red Velvet Pearls:

Beetroot sponges piped with a quark based low fat cream cheese frosting.

Chocolate Pearls:

Chocolate sponges piped with our signature tofu-chocolate frosting. Low fat and a good source of protein. 21% tofu, 25% low fat yoghurt.

Chocolate Meringue Cookies:

Choc & Orange Cookies:

Soft dairy-free chocolate chip and orange biscuits.

*The Skinny Bakery Review

After sampling each one, i must say i am so impressed.

The texture of the sponge in the pearl range was light and moist.

You would never have guessed that there was beetroot or tofu incorporated into them.

If i had to choose, the Carrot Pearls were my favourite.

They tasted exactly like carrot cake, a perfect balance of carrot, cinnamon, walnut and cream cheese.

The Choc & Orange Cookies were tasty too. They was crunchy on the outside and soft inside.

I would have liked more of a stronger flavour of chocolate and orange coming through.

But none the less i still enjoyed them with a cuppa, i more than enjoyed them to be fair – i ate the whole pack.

The Chocolate Meringues were hands down my favourite overall though, they was utterly divine.

A light crispy meringue, with a smooth gooey chocolate filling inside.

Total perfection.

If you are a serial snacker like me, then i can highly recommend heading on over to *The Skinny Bakery website and treating yourself to some of their tasty goodies.

I have already placed another order this week, and i can’t wait to get my mits on the Chocolate Meringues.
