Antipodes is a brand that has caught my eye over the past couple of years, as it prides itself on scientifically validated organic beauty.
The brand is inspired by its home, New Zealand. It believes that it has found the answer to anti-ageing, within New Zealand’s nature.
They believe that organic skincare ingredients grown without chemical pesticides and fertilisers retain their highest possible bioactivity. In their most pure state, they are the highest-performing and healthiest ingredients for your skin.
Antipodes products are 100% vegetarian, cruelty free, and they do not test on animals.
My thoughts:
I really like the packaging and feel it represents the ethos of the brand, perfectly.
These two products sure look aesthetically pleasing on my bathroom shelf.
I have trialled the products for 17 days, using the Vanilla Pod Hydrating day Cream every morning and the Manuka Honey Mask six times over this period.
*Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (£22.99):
The packaging is perfect for this sort of product. You simply squeeze the cream out, no fuss, simple and hygienic.
The cream is a white light formula, and it smells incredible. A light sumptuous warming honey aroma.
It contains a formula that’s been a traditional remedy of the New Zealand Maori people, with antibacterial Manuka honey.
It claims to leave the skin soft, smooth and rejuvenated.
You are advised to apply over the face and neck, leave for 15 minutes and then remove with warm water.
The cream feels light, smooth, creamy and nourishing when first applied to the skin. I was surprised how much product absorbed into my skin, because each time i have come to wash the mask off there was hardly any product left.
Afterwards my skin feels incredibly soft and hydrated, it is a really beautiful and relaxing face mask.
(Basically a giant hug for the face)
Due to the Manuka honey and the anti-bacterial properties this product would be perfect for anyone who has eczema, acne, sensitive skin, congested or enflamed skin.
I feel i have found the perfect mask to use after i have been out in the sun, had a facial peel, or my skin is on dry side of town.
*Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating day Cream (£29.99):
This cream is a rich lightweight, whipped velvety formula. With a light vanilla scent, that feels familiar and comforting.
It claims to keep skin smooth, soft and clear. The lightweight formula deeply moisturises without clogging pores, and with added Manuka honey as its antibacterial agents thats help to clean up any blemishes and keep skin clear.
The cream feels smooth and nourishing when applied onto the skin and absorbs really quickly, which is essential for a day moisturiser in my opinion as you can then apply your make-up a couple of minutes later.
My skin is pretty sensitive and prone to breakouts it hates trying new skincare, but it has welcomed Antipodes with open arms. Over the the past 17 days i haven’t had any breakouts, and my skin appears smooth and hydrated.
Both products have been a joy to use they are very kind, soothing and nourishing on my skin. I burnt my face and neck on my hair wand, (ouch) and i applied the mask and day cream over 2 days, and it soothed and healed the burn in record time.
If you have any skin sensitivities, or a little wary trying new skincare i feel Antipodes is a brand you would really adore.
Their approach to skincare is innovative, combining super fruit extracts with science to create a range of products that fight anti-ageing, all whilst being kind and gentle to the skin.
What could be better?
Have you tried Antipodes?
I would love some recommendations.
