I know it’s a little early for a monthly “favourites post” but January isn’t the most chipper of months, so i thought i would share with you some of the goodies i got in December, that are helping me through this cold and chilly month.
These two products below are a match made in heaven, the perfect combo after a long hard day!
They both have a mixture of the following essentials oils:
Lavender: Renowned for its relaxing and calming effects.
Patchouli & Rosewood Oil: Lifts mood and relives tension.
Vetiver: Relives insomnia
I have never tried an aromatherapy candle before, and i am shook!
I have been lighting this of an evening in my bedroom, and the scent is absolutely stunning.
The aroma is incredibly relaxing and calming, with lavender being the strongest scent i can pick up on. The warm and woody scent of rosewood can also be detected making it feel so incredibly perfect for this time of year.
This Works – Deep Sleep Bath Soak:
This product was a Christmas present from a family member.
It was such a thoughtful gift, as everyone who knows me well knows I love nothing more than a long soak in the bath, and no matter what, every evening i “make” time to wind down and meditate whilst having a dip.
This Works is a brand i adore, but rarely splurge on, so these bath salts are a total treat.
I have tried a number of bath salts, and none of them compare to these. The musky scent of patchouli oil and the sharp floral scent of lavender work beautifully together. The scent engulfs the whole bathroom, and teamed with the above candle, well i float out the bathroom, calm chilled and ready for a good nights sleep.
Eminem Revival Album:
I am the biggest Eminem fan, when he brought out The Slim Shady LP i become obsessed. OBSESSED i tell you!
Gone are the days when i had him plastered all over my bedroom wall. (Unfortunately)
Revival was released a week before Christmas and I am so impressed. It’s a mixture of heartfelt, moving, fun, controversial and political pieces. Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Pink and Alicia Keys all feature on the album.
His openness about how his self-doubt consumes him is tragic, yet for me very relatable.
I can’t stop listening to it! ALL HAIL MARSHALL!
This book is a fantastic starting point for those who want to learn more about incorporating a positive outlook in life.
The book is broken down in such a fun, easy and relatable way. The book is packed full of case studies, insights and fun illustrations. Matt breaks down each chapter in a clear and concise way, from listening to you inner voice, tips to help you deal with daily stresses, to helping you follow and capture your goals and dreams.
There are 7 chapters from “Expose your Ta-Da” to “Turn your muck to luck” i found some new tips and tricks and found it to be a fun, uplifting and enjoyable read. I dip back in to certain chapters when i am after a little motivation and inspiration.
I have read a lot of these style of book, they are one of my favourite type of genres.
If you have never read any wellness or self-help books. I would highly recommend this as a starting point.
The helpful tools and tips can be realistically incorporated into daily life, and in-turn helps you to focus on the positive aspects of life, and become more in-turn with your inner self.
Can you believe i only just picked up this up last month? Price at £3.99 this concealer is really worth the hype. I use it under my eyes and this is the shade fair 1.
It’s a full coverage, incredibly pigmented concealer that has a semi matte finish. It sets pretty quickly so I do have to blend it in fast. I always set with a finishing powder, and have never experienced any creasing. It leaves my under-eye area looking bright and does a really good job at covering dark circles. For the price i can say it is worth a try.
Pixi Peel & Polish:
My least favourite skincare products is exfoliator. I don’t like the texture on my skin, nor the fact that the little beads seem to get bloomin everywhere.
But i am aware that it’s a much needed item within my beauty routine
Gemma Etc recommended i tried Pixi Peel & Polish, and i must say surprisingly i really like it.
It is a light cream consistency with tiny sugar cane grains laced throughout. The natural fruit enzymes loosen dead skin and the lactic acid gently exfoliates the skin.
I use it 3 times a week as recommended. I use around a 5p sized blob each time, and slowly rub in circular movements around my whole face. I then leave it for 5 minutes, and remove with a flannel.
Some say they experience a tingly feeling, but i never.
Afterwards my skin really does look glowing and feels smooth and supple. If your skin is dull, dry and appearing a little lack lustre, then i can highly recommend this product.
Pixi Glow Tonic:
I was without this product for around 3 weeks, and damn i missed it. Santa brought me a brand new bottle, and as i have featured this product on my blog before i won’t go into much detail, but you can find the full review here.
