Winter Skincare Saviours

My skincare game revs up a couple of gears around this time of year.

My skin doesn’t react well to the cold air and central heating, it always becomes incredibly dry, dull and dehydrated.

If i don’t keep on top of my skincare routine, then i can start to look like an ole leather handbag.

I always reach for products that are rich, hydrating and leave my skin looking and feeling soft and nourished.

Below are some products i couldn’t be without.

Winter Skincare Saviours

Derma Roller& NIP+FAB No Needle Fix 50 ml

I have a full post here chatting all about using a Derma Roller at home.

After i have used a derma roller, i then apply the Nip + Fab No Needle Fix Serum.

This serum claims to hydrate skin whilst smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, with long lasting results for younger, firmer looking skin.

The serum feels smooth, soft and cooling on the skin.

As soon as it is applied, the serum instantly sinks into the skin. I don’t find the serum incredibly hydrating, but this is probably down to the fact i have just used a derma roller.

I really like it as it doesn’t irritate me in anyway. I particularly adore that it leaves my skin feeling firmer, appearing more plumper, and overall skin-tone is improved.

For £10 it is a real bargain, and I highly recommend.

Clarins Blue Orchid Treatment Oil:

Around an hour after i use a derma roller, i have to pump some hydration back in.

For me this Clarins Facial Oil is the perfect product. I have used it for many years now.

It feels incredibly luxurious and the scent is beautiful, very invigorating.

Made from 100% plant pure plant extracts, the oil claims to restore moisture depleted skin.

It leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated. In-turn, fine lines are reduced and my skin appears radiant and plump.

A bottle costs £32 and lasts me around 6 months, using 2-3 times a week.

It is a really great investment, and they have three in the range to choose from – dependant on your skin type.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Degenerating Treatment – 40 ml

Cicaplast is a multi-purpose miracle cream that soothes, repairs and protects skin from infection all in one application.

I swear by this product for mine and my sons chapped lips. We suffer really bad in the colder months. All around our lips become red, sore and chapped. I apply this every evening before we go to sleep, and when we wake in the morning the area is completely healed. It’s magic.

Only a little needed, it is a light balm texture, and it feels soothing and nourishing on the skin.

It costs around £10 and lasts us the whole Winter.

Optimum Phytodeluxe Night Cream:

I have loved every single product i have tried from Superdrug’s Optimum range, and this is no exception.

This is a purse friendly night cream, that delivers. I alternate this each night, with the Clarins Blue Orchid Oil.

The cream is dispensed via a pump, and it has a velvet rich texture – it feels incredibly soft on the skin.

It doesn’t leave a tacky or greasy residue, quite the latter it sinks in quickly and instantly leaves the skin appearing nourished, plump and glowing.

The Optimum range has been widely praised in many newspapers and editorials, and i can confirm that the hype is all true.

RRP £14.99 but currently on sale for £7.50

Winter Skincare Saviours

Clarins Multi Active Jour Day Cream:

The formula of this day cream has changed in recent years, and i don’t love this product as much as i did unfortunately.

The scent, it is a little strong for my liking. It also now feels a little tacky on the skin.

But the product itself is a Winter staple for me. It claims that the plant extracts included visibly diminish the first signs of ageing, restoring radiance, hydrating and helps to maintain younger looking skin.

I put on a fair amount each morning, and leave it for around 15 minutes before i apply my make-up to avoid the product feeling tacky.

This issue aside, it does work wonders, It leaves my skin so soft and hydrated.

My make-up appears much more luminous and glowy, compared to when i don’t use it.

When i don’t use it, it can look a little lacklustre.

I used to use this all year round, but i then found the Optimum PhytoGlc-Age Day Cream (review here)

I found i preferred this in the warmer months, when my skin wasn’t as dry.

But at the moment i do needed the added richness and hydrating properties that the Multi Active Day Cream brings to the table.

RRP £44
